Bachelor of Science Degree in Forestry Wildlife Management – Stephen F. Austin State University

Experience:
Jed is a Certified Wildlife Biologist, Registered Forester, Certified Forester, and licensed Realtor. Based in Westervelt’s Atlantic Region, he manages timberland acquisitions and hunting leases in Georgia, South Carolina and Virginia. Jed’s love for the outdoors and passion for hunting led to a career in forestry and wildlife management. The majority of his career as a wildlife biologist has involved private consulting. Originally from Texas, he has worked with landowners and hunting clubs across the Southeast. In recent years he has also begun working with Westervelt’s real estate division. His understanding of timber markets and financial analysis have allowed him to help grow the company’s timberland ownership.

Specialties:
As a consultant for Westervelt, Jed has gained extensive experience managing wildlife populations and habitat for upland game species and waterfowl. Combined with a forestry background, he is able to help landowners balance timberland and recreational property goals. This experience also allows him to provide valuable insight to lease customers to help maximize their hunting lease potential and understand the benefits of silviculture activities.
